… Perforations are small holes made on all four sides of a stamp to separate it from the sheet. In English, they are called perforations, or perf for short. A stamp without holes is called an imperf, one with the corners missing is called a missing perforation, and one with the perforation misaligned from the correct position is called a misaligned perforation.
