Pierre l'Hermite (English)

...They live alone in forests or wilderness, practicing asceticism and austerity, but some also have their own chambers in communal religious facilities. Some are famous, such as the hermit Pierre l'Hermite, known for his activities in recruiting for the First Crusade. After the 13th century, hermits were often included in communal organizations, such as the Augustinian Order, the Carthusian Order, and the Carmelite Order, which continue to exist to this day.
