...the order Primates are thought to have evolved from animals similar to the insectivores and radiated adaptively through arboreal life. The order Primates is divided into two suborders, the Prosimii and the Anthropoidea, of which the Prosimii is further divided into four infraorders, the Tupaiiformes, the Tarsiiformes, the Lorisiformes, and the Lemuriformes, while the Anthropoidea is divided into three superfamilies, the Ceboidea, the Cercopithecoidea, and the Hominoidea. At the family level, the prosimians are divided into six families: Tupaiidae, Tarsiidae, Lorisidae, Daubentoniidae, Lemuridae, and Indriidae, while the true monkeys are divided into five families: Callitrichidae, Cebidae, Cercopithecidae, Pongidae, and Hominidae.
