Japanese: お半 - おはん

The title of a Joruri piece. A travel story about Shinanoya Ohan and Obiya Choemon. The oldest is "Katsura River Love's Shackles: Traveling Floating Names Entering Things" from the "Haru Fuji Miyako Nishiki" collection of Seiden-seido travel stories published in 1763 (Horeki 13). Subsequent works have basically followed this piece in terms of structure and lyrics. "Katsura River Love's Shackles" from "Miyazono Oumuseki" published in 1773 (An'ei 2) is also thought to have been written in the Horeki period. In Edo, major plays included the Tomimoto-bushi play "Michiyuki Segawa no Vengeful Waves" written by the first Sakurada Jisuke and performed at the Ichimura-za in April 1881 (Tenmei 1), the Tokiwazu-bushi play "Obi no Ayakatsura no Kawamizu" also written by Jisuke and performed at the Miyako-za in January 1896 (Kansei 8), and the Kiyomoto-bushi play "Michiyuki Shian no Hokkai" written by the second Sakurada Jisuke and set in Edo and performed at the Nakamura-za in January 1819 (Bunsei 2).

浄瑠璃の曲名。信濃屋お半と帯屋長右衛門の道行物。1763年(宝暦13)刊の正伝節道行集《春富士都錦》所収の《桂川恋の柵（しがらみ）　道行浮名に入物（いるもの）》が最も古い。以後の作品は構成･詞章において基本的にこの曲にならっている。73年(安永2)刊の《宮薗鸚鵡石（おうむせき）》所収《桂川恋の柵》も宝暦期の作と推定される。江戸では81年(天明1)4月市村座上演，初世桜田治助作の富本節《道行瀬川の仇浪》，96年(寛政8)1月都座上演，同じく治助作の常磐津節《帯文桂川水（おびのあやかつらのかわみず）》，1819年(文政2)1月中村座上演，2世治助作の清元節で舞台を江戸へ移した《道行思案余（しあんのほか）》などが主要なものである。
