psychic dependence

...Psychic dependence is a state in which the person is unable to stop taking a drug as a result of repeated drug intake, and has a psychological desire to continue taking the drug. Physical dependence is a state in which various physical abnormalities, i.e. withdrawal symptoms, occur when the person stops taking the drug. This type of dependence, especially physical dependence, is accompanied by a so-called tolerance, in which the person must gradually increase the dosage of the drug to obtain the same medicinal effects as at the beginning.
