Ono no Minemori - Ono no Minemori

A Chinese poet of the early Heian period. The third son of Seii Vice Shogun Nagami. Father of Takamura. In 806 (Daido 1), he became the Crown Prince's Junior Chief, and after serving as Shogeki and Shikibu Shoyu, he served as a local official in Omi, Mino, Mutsu, Awa, and Dazai Daini. As seen in his achievements as Dazai Daini, when he recommended that public farming be allowed to alleviate the impoverished farmers in the Dazaifu area, he was a practical and capable official with administrative skills. His literary achievements include drafting the preface to "Ryounshu" (Collection of Undemonstration), which included 13 of his poems, 8 in "Bunka Shureishu" (Collection of Literature), and 9 in "Keikokushu" (Collection of Imperial Rule), and in his later years he participated in the compilation of "Nihon Koki" (Chronicles of Japan). Many of his works are poems that he adapted to the rhymes of Emperor Saga's poems, or poems he composed at the command of the emperor, and his style shows the influence of Chinese Six Dynasties poetry.

平安前期の漢詩人。征夷(せいい)副将軍永見(ながみ)の三男。篁(たかむら)の父。806年（大同1）春宮少進(とうぐうしょうじ)となり、少外記(しょうげき)、式部少輔(しょうゆう)などを経て、近江(おうみ)、美濃(みの)、陸奥(むつ)、阿波(あわ)、大宰大弐(だざいのだいに)など地方官を歴任した。大宰府管内の農民の疲弊を救うため公営田の耕作を認めるよう建議した大宰大弐時代の業績にみえるように、行政的手腕にたけた実務的な能吏であった。文学的な業績としては『凌雲集(りょううんしゅう)』の編者の一人として序を起草し、同集に13首、『文華秀麗集』に8首、『経国集(けいこくしゅう)』に9首採録されていることと、晩年に『日本後紀(こうき)』の編纂(へんさん)に参画したことがあげられる。その作品には嵯峨(さが)天皇の詩に韻をあわせたもの、天皇の命によって詠進した詩が多く、表現には中国六朝(りくちょう)詩の影響をうかがえる。
