The Treaty of the Great King was a treaty signed in 387 BC (or 386 BC) by Artaxerxes II, the Persian king, when Sparta, unable to maintain its hegemony over Greece, sent Antalcidas to the Persian king Artaxerxes II. It stipulated that the cities of Asia Minor would belong to Persia, while other Greek cities would remain independent, and that Persia would intervene if any of the cities were violated.
