Rathke's pouch (English)

…the adenohypophysis is composed of the neurohypophysis and the adenohypophysis. The adenohypophysis arises from the Rathke's pouch, an ectodermal projection of the posterior pharyngeal palate epithelium. In mammals, it consists of the main lobe (also called the anterior lobe in mammals), the intermediate lobe (middle part), and the lobe superior (prominent part). Birds do not have a middle lobe.
