...The rule began with 5 rai (1 rai is 1,600 m2) for slaves and beggars, and reached a maximum of 100,000 rai for the viceroy. There was no sakdina for the king. There is a theory that its origin can be traced back to the rice paddy allocation system, but it is unclear what the area means.
