General-purpose devices include scintigraphy scanners and scintigraphy cameras, and various other devices have been developed. (1) Scintigraphy scanner The first scintigraphy scanner was invented by B. Cassen et al. in the United States (1951). It is called a scintigraphy scanner because it uses a scintillation counter as the detector and scans the surface of the patient's body in two dimensions.
