Scorpaenidae

...A general term for marine fish belonging to the Scorpaenidae family of the order Scorpaeniformes, or one of these. The Scorpaenidae family is also known as the Scorpaenidae family, and includes 72 species found in Japan, including kasago, mebaru (illustration), hachi, yumekasago, hiodoshi, lionfish, fusakasago (illustration), akodai (illustration), baramenuke, and shirokasago. Their English names are rock fish and scorpion fish due to their body shape and color, but the latter name was probably derived from the fact that the spines and protrusions on their heads hurt when touched, and from the fact that some of their relatives are poisonous, such as hachi and lionfish.
