A 2.4m orbital telescope launched aboard the Space Shuttle by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. It is named after E. Hubble, who discovered the redshift of galaxies. It can observe electromagnetic waves from stars and galaxies outside the atmosphere with wavelengths from 110nm to 1mm (ultraviolet, ultraviolet, infrared, and submillimeter regions) with the maximum resolution of its aperture, and is therefore capable of detecting faint celestial objects up to 28th magnitude. The F 24's reticletian-type Cassegrain focus has a field of view of nearly 30', which is divided into five parts, with a direct imaging camera in the center and four types of observation instruments installed in the four peripheral parts: a high-dispersion spectrometer, a high-speed photometer, and a faint object spectrometer.
