seven deadly sins

Japanese: seven deadly sins(英語表記)sevendeadlysins
seven deadly sins

In Buddhism, sin is an act that goes against the law (Dharma) or the precepts, and the most representative of these are the "Five Cardinal Sins" or "Five Cardinal Sins." These are the five types of sins: (1) killing one's mother, (2) killing one's father, (3) killing a monk (Arahant), (4) injuring the body of the Buddha, and (5) destroying the harmony of the religious community. These are also called the "Five Cardinal Sins" because they are sins that will lead to hell. However, these are basically crimes that go against moral standards, just like the "Five Evils" (or "Ten Evils") in Buddhism and the "Seven Deadly Sins" in Christianity. Later, however, the awareness that human existence itself is covered in sin emerged, and this was combined with the idea of the afterlife, such as paradise and hell, and the idea of retribution, to give rise to the Pure Land Buddhist view of sin.
