Xing-bu; Hsing-pu
One of the six major administrative departments in China. Also called the Qiuguan. Responsible for judicial and criminal penalties. Developed as the Shangshu Duguan Cao during the Six Dynasties, renamed the Jeibu in the Sui Dynasty. In the Tang Dynasty, the organization was established with the Chief Minister, the Vice Minister, the Judge Langzhong, and the Inwai Lang, and was responsible for four departments: Jeibu, Duguan (management of official slaves), Bibu (audit), and Simen (gate, gate entry and exit management), and was responsible for trials together with Dali Temple. When the Shangshu Ministry was abolished in the Yuan Dynasty, it became part of the Zhongshu Ministry, and from the Ming Dynasty onwards, it was directly under the Emperor and became one of the Three Law Offices along with Dali Temple and Ducayuan, and continued to exist until it was renamed the Fabu under the new system in the 32nd year of the Guangxu era (1906).
