Ogura

Japanese: 小椋 - おぐら

The name of the valley area along the upper reaches of the Echi River in Eigenji Town, Kanzaki County, Shiga Prefecture (formerly Higashi Ogura Village, Aichi County). This area was thought to be the origin of the woodworking houses scattered throughout the area. The six villages of Kimigahata, Hirutani, Minokawa, Mandokoro, Kuize, and Kiwada in this area were also called the Six Fields of Oguradani. In particular, the two villages of Kimigahata and Hirutani both have what is said to be the tomb of Prince Koretaka, as well as a shrine (formerly called Ookimi Daimyojin, Tsutsui Hachiman Shrine) that enshrines the prince and its associated temples (Kinryu-ji Temple and Kiun-an).

滋賀県神崎郡永源寺町の愛知（えち）川上流に沿う渓谷一帯(旧，愛知郡東小椋村)の地名。各地に散在する木地屋の根元の地と考えられていた所である。この地の君ヶ畑（きみがはた），蛭谷（ひるたに），箕川（みのかわ），政所（まんどころ），九居瀬（くいぜ），黄和田（きわだ）の6集落は，小椋谷六ヶ畑とも呼ばれた。中でも君ヶ畑，蛭谷2村には，双方に惟喬（これたか）親王の墳墓と伝えられるものや，親王を祭神とした神社(旧称，太皇（おおきみ）大明神，筒井八幡宮)とその別当寺(金竜寺，帰雲庵)が存在する。
