...A drama-format program using television (hereafter referred to as TV) as a medium; a drama broadcast on television. The term "TV drama" was coined in Japan, and in English, the words "teleplay," "TV show" (although this term has a broader meaning), and "TV movie" are usually used. Television dramas have existed since the very early days of television, including experimental broadcasting, and in the history of its development, they have always been one of the main broadcast contents, along with news and live sports broadcasts.
