Head of the Ogie-bushi school, which branched off from Edo Nagauta. (1) First Generation (?-1787 (Tenmei 7)) Said to be a pupil of the first generation Matsushima Shogoro. Original surname Chiba. Said to be the son of a samurai of the Tsugaru domain. Active as a stand-up singer at the Edo Ichimura-za Theatre from 1766-68 (Meiwa 3-5), he was on a par with Fujita Yoshiharu (Jiji), but retired and entered Yoshiwara, where he founded ozashiki-style Nagauta. Later he shaved his head and became Hasegawa Tairin. The second generation was his pupil Arita Eikichi (1744-95), and the third generation was said to be a pupil of the second generation, Kisen, but this is unknown. 江戸長唄から分派した荻江節の家元。(1)初世(?‐1787(天明7)) 初世松島庄五郎の門人と伝える。本姓千葉。津軽藩士の子という。1766‐68年(明和3‐5)の間,江戸市村座の立唄(たてうた)として活躍,富士田吉治(次)と並び称されたが引退,吉原に入ってお座敷風長唄を創始。のち剃髪して長谷川泰琳。2世はその弟子有田栄橘(1744‐95),3世は2世の弟子喜仙というが未詳。(2)4世(1836‐84∥天保7‐明治17) 東京深川の豪商近江屋(飯島)喜左衛門。
