Dementia then progresses, and the patient shows myoclonus (simultaneous, instantaneous muscle contractions of the limbs and trunk), pyramidal symptoms (motor paralysis, etc.), and extrapyramidal symptoms (abnormal muscle tone and involuntary movements, etc.).
