...South Dravidian includes Tamil (45 million speakers) in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu and northern Sri Lanka, Malayalam (25 million speakers) in Kerala, Kannada (34 million speakers) in Karnataka, Toda (800 speakers) in the Nilgiri mountains, Kota (900 speakers), Kodagu (40,000 speakers) in the Coorg region, and Tulu (940,000 speakers) around Mangalore. Central Dravidian includes Kui (500,000 speakers), Kuvi (200,000 speakers), Korami (50,000 speakers), Gondi (1.5 million speakers) and others from central India. It is also thought to include Telugu (Andhra Pradesh, 49 million speakers), which has the largest number of speakers of the Dravidian languages. Further North Dravidian languages ​​include Kurukh (1.14 million), Marut (90,000), and Brahui (300,000), which is isolated in far-flung Baluchistan.
