Oya [town] - Oya
An old town in Yabu County, northwest of Hyogo Prefecture. Its center is Oya Market, located at the confluence of the Oya River, a tributary of the Maruyama River, and the Akenobe River. Nearly 90% of the area is covered by forest, producing timber, shiitake mushrooms, vegetables, and more. Tajima cattle are also bred. The Akenobe Mine was located in the south. In April 2004, it merged with Yabu Town, Yabu Town, and Sekinomiya Town in Yabu County to form Yabu City. 138.29 km2. Population: 4,771 (2003).

兵庫県北西部，養父(やぶ)郡の旧町。中心は円山(まるやま)川支流の大屋川と明延(あけのべ)川の合流点にある大屋市場。ほぼ90％が山林で占められ，木材，シイタケ，野菜などを産する。但馬(たじま)牛も飼育。南部に明延鉱山があった。2004年４月養父郡八鹿町，養父町，関宮町と合併し，養父市となる。138.29km2。4771人（2003）。
