...An inlet in the southeastern part of Hudson Bay, Canada. The bay was named after Thomas James, an Englishman who explored the area in 1631 and 1633. It is 450 km north to south and 250 km east to west. It freezes over in winter. The western coast belongs to Ontario, the eastern coast to Quebec, but Akimiski Island in the bay belongs to the Northwest Territories.
