A town in Shimokita District, Aomori Prefecture, at the northwestern tip of the Shimokita Peninsula. It includes Omazaki, the northernmost point of Honshu, and has close ties with Hakodate, which is served by ferry boats. The town is centered on fishing, producing kelp, squid, and tuna.
