Hypohydrogamy

...Some plants bloom underwater, while others bloom on the surface. Submerged plants often pollinate underwater (hypohydrogamy). In the case of goldfish, when the male flowers bloom underwater, the pollen spreads through the water and pollinates the stigmas of the pistils of nearby female flowers. In plants such as burdock, the male flowers are near the surface of the water, and when they bloom, the pollen gradually sinks underwater and pollinates the female flowers that bloom near the bottom.
