…Ideally, we can imagine a group in which the communality extends to all aspects of life, but in reality, such communities are rare. The closest example is the social group of hunter-gatherers, which anthropologists call a horde or band, but even in such a case, for example, not all work is performed in the form of communal labor; individual labor accounts for a large proportion. The fruits of labor are not always shared or consumed communally.
