Holy Lance

According to Jacobus de Voragine's Golden Legend (13th century), he was converted when he saw the natural disaster that occurred at the moment of the stabbing, and after his weakened eyesight was restored by the blood of Jesus that ran down the spear, he devoted himself to missionary work in Caesarea, Cappadocia, where he was captured and beheaded for refusing to worship idols. According to legend, the spear that stabbed Jesus was later discovered by Helena, the mother of Constantine I, along with the Holy Cross and the Holy Nails, and this became linked to the veneration of Longinus from the 6th century onwards, giving rise to various legends about the Holy Lance. One theory is that Joseph of Arimathea brought the Holy Grail and the Holy Lance to England, and they were also incorporated into the Arthurian legend.
