Born: 1695 (Genroku 8) [Died] 1759 Head of the Osatsuma-bushi Joruri school. Born in Mito, he was called Shiba Gensuke, but first went by the name Satsuma Bungoro, and later went by the name Osatsuma Gaki Fujiwara Naokatsu. A senior disciple of Satsuma Gaki, he began performing puppet shows around 1712, and in the first year of the Kyoho era, he appeared in Kabuki, accompanying the aragoto instead of the gekibushi. In January of the 14th year of the Kyoho era, his performance of Yanone Goro at the Nakamura Theater was particularly well received. The second generation (1729-1777) was succeeded by Asahi Tayu, the son of the first generation, and the third generation (?-1800) was succeeded by the first Tayu of the school of the first or second generation.
