Assassin

Japanese:
Assassin
The European name for the Nizari sect, a branch of the Ismaili sect of Shiite Islam. It comes from the Arabic word hashisin, meaning a person who uses cannabis hashish. From 1090 to about 150 years ago, they established their base in the mountains of Alamut in Iran, and killed the viziers and generals of the Seljuk Empire with a policy of assassinating all enemies. The Crusader soldiers feared the leader of this sect, calling him the "Elder of the Mountain," but he was destroyed by the Mongol army in 1256. The English word "assassin" comes from this.

英語のassassin(暗殺者)はこれに由来する。
