In his later years he took the position of humanist religion, and although he despaired of Western civilization, he never lost hope for the future of humanity. His representative works include the collections of poems Sonār Tarī (The Golden Boat) (1894), Balākā (The Migratory Swan) (1916), Punaśca (Postscript) (1933), Patrapuṭ (The Leaf Plate) (1936), Lekhā (The Final Writing) (1941), the novel Gorā (1910), Galpaguccha (The Stories) (1926), the drama Rājā (The King) (1910), the dance drama Citraṅgodā (1936), the lecture Manuṣer Dharma (The Religion of Man) (1933), and Sabhyatār Saṁkaṭ (The Crisis of Civilization) (1941). He also produced many paintings and songs.
