...The name "goldcrest" comes from its characteristic appearance, which looks like a chrysanthemum flower on its head. The goldcrest ( Regulus regulus ) is distributed from Asia to Europe, and in Japan it breeds in the subalpine zones of Hokkaido, Honshu, and Kyushu. In autumn and winter, it migrates to warmer regions to hibernate.
