…the name given by the ancient Romans to the Galli settlement, which is the name of the Celts whom the Greeks called Celtai. In French and English it is called Gaule or Gaul. Geographically, it is an area surrounded by the Rhine, the Alps, the Mediterranean Sea, the Pyrenees, and the Atlantic Ocean.
