...The term "rensa" is not used much these days. They are divided into "regular chain" or "corporate chain" and "voluntary chain" (VC), but after World War II, a new type of chain store called "franchise chain" or "contract chain" also developed. A regular chain is a corporate entity with a powerful central headquarters and many retail stores.
