European Research Coordination Action : A European joint research program on advanced technology. It was launched in 1985 at the suggestion of French President Mitterrand with the aim of promoting joint research between European companies in advanced technology development. Currently, joint research is being carried out in a variety of fields, including information and communication technology, artificial intelligence, new materials, optical technology, and high-energy lasers, with the aim of commercializing these technologies. Project Eureka.
[Additional information] The name comes from the Greek word for "I found." → Eureka (see separate article)
