Applied psychology

An academic field that seeks to apply the principles and discoveries of psychology to real life. The main fields are industry, education, and clinical practice, but there are also fields such as politics, economics, management, social welfare, disaster prevention, traffic, crime, and culture. Applied psychology research is also useful for basic psychology research, so the relationship between the two is complementary, and the distinction between the two is often simply a matter of the researchers' awareness of the issues at hand.
