Ethische Politiek (English spelling)

…the Dutch term Ethische Politiek refers to the liberal colonial policy adopted by the Dutch government in Indonesia from around 1901 to around 1927. The impoverishment of Javanese villages caused by the forced cultivation system did not improve even after the system was abolished, and calls arose for a fundamental reexamination of the colonial policy.
