Formerly known as Philip Mountbatten.
The husband of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, he was educated in the UK and served as a Captain in the Royal Navy during World War II. He became a British citizen in 1947, married Princess Elizabeth in the same year, and became the Duke of Edinburgh. He became a Field Marshal of the Royal Army, Navy, and Air Force in 1953, and was given the title of Prince in 1957. He also served as President of the International Equestrian Federation and President of the World Wildlife Fund.
