...Population: 34,000 (1979). Linguistically and culturally, they are divided into the Northern Group (Nenets, Enets, Ganasan) and the Southern Group (Serikoop). The Southern Group can also include the Kamas, Karagas, Koybar, Motl, Soyot, and Taigi (collectively called Sayan/Samoyedic), who have lost their speakers and become extinct.
