…German poet and radio dramatist. Born near Frankfurt an der Oder, he studied law and Chinese studies before starting his literary career. After serving in the army and serving as a prisoner of war, he restarted his life after World War II. In 1950, he received the '47 Group' award, and in 1953, he married Ilse Aichinger (1921- ), a female writer who also belonged to the same group. In 1959, he received the Büchner Prize, and became the most influential poet in West Germany after Ben's death. For him, who wrote poetry "to orient himself in reality," it was important to expose the deceptive nature of the stability of reality and to restore the powers of judgment, criticism, decision-making, and resistance, as well as his conscience, which had been paralyzed by prejudice and ideology. …
