[Dock type]
Docks are classified into repair docks, construction docks, mooring (ship) docks, etc. according to their purpose, and are classified into dry docks and floating docks according to their form. (1) Dry dock A dock is dug deep enough for ships to enter and exit, solidified with stone or concrete on three sides, and has a door on one side that opens toward the water surface. When a ship is pulled into the dock, the door is closed, the water in the dock is pumped out, and the ship is secured to the bottom of the dock.
