Druzhina

…A fur-lined cloak worn by both men and women in the East Slavic region, including Russia. It was first mentioned in documents at the end of the 14th century, but in the Russian bylina (oral epic), it is depicted as a sable or leopard fur coat worn by the druzhina (prayer guards) who followed princes. There were three types of cut: a long coat with a front fastening (in southern Russia, especially the Don, Kuban, Terek, and Siberia), a one-piece coat with a waistband, and the newest half-width cloak with pleats (in the central industrial region of the middle Volga). …
