D/P - documents against payment

This is called "delivery for payment". It is a term that is paired with D/A and means handing over the shipping documents in exchange for payment of the bill amount. The method of delivery (D/P or D/A) is usually specified on the document bill or bill of delivery, but if there is no specification, banks generally treat it as D/P.
