Drug monitoring

...The quantitative measurement of inorganic substances such as sodium, chlorine, potassium, iron, copper, calcium, magnesium, and phosphate, and organic substances such as carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and amino acids, as well as non-proteinaceous nitrogen compounds, vital pigments, and enzyme activity, are used to estimate and diagnose metabolic disorders caused by diseases. In the analysis of chemical components, the measurement of drug concentrations in blood and urine, known as drug monitoring, has recently been added to clinical testing. Even if a drug is administered, the drug will not be effective unless the drug concentration in the body and blood is above a certain level.
