Domowina

...The Sorbian culture was revived after 1847, but after German unification in 1871, they were forced to assimilate. In response, a movement to protect ethnic identity arose in 1912, centered on the Lusatian Sorb Association (Domowiina), but was persecuted under the Nazis. After World War II, Lusatia was fortunately included in the Soviet occupied area, which later became East Germany, and was granted equal rights and official use of the language, and the Domowina has been active as an ethnic representative organization.
