...At the beginning of the 12th century, Takakane, a member of the Yokoyama clan of the Seven Clans of Musashi, killed Aiko Naiki Heidaifu and moved into this area, and it is said that his family took the name Aiko after that. In the Kamakura period, they were listed as vassals of the shogunate, and Aiko Saburo Suetaka in particular was highly valued as a master archer. Suetaka participated in important ceremonies of the shogunate as an archer, and was also the archery teacher of the second shogun, Minamoto no Yoriie, in his childhood.
