Airplanes have several rudders that can be operated by pilots to change their attitude and direction. These are collectively called control surfaces.
[Primary control surface]
The most important of the control surfaces are the main control surfaces that allow the airplane to rotate about its center of gravity in three ways: up or down, left or right, or sideways. These are also called the three rudders.
