Cibinium

...After World War II, the socialist government emphasized industrialization, and today, the city is home to a thriving industry of machine tools, textiles, wood processing, and food products (Sibiu's salami is particularly famous in Romania), but it is also known as a historic tourist city. This region is called Cibinium, and is said to have been inhabited by original Romanians in the 4th century, but the foundations of Sibiu were laid by Germans (Saxons) who immigrated at the request of the Hungarian king, and they called it Herman's Town after the organizer of the colonization. The Saxon migration to Transylvania began in the 12th century, and the first place they settled was the Sibiu region, and at the end of the 12th century, a bishopric was established, and from here the colonization spread to the west, north, and east. ...
