Carrauntoohil

…The central part of the country is covered by plains, while the two mountain ranges (the Caledonian and Armorican) that extend from the north and east form mountainous areas on the periphery. The mountains are generally low, with only Mount Carrauntoohil (1041m), which belongs to the Armorican mountain range in the southwest, rising above 1000m. The area was covered by ice until about 12,000 years ago, and the landscape was created by glacial erosion and sedimentation.
