Busch, Hermann

…German violinist and composer. He studied violin at the Cologne Conservatory and composition in Bonn. At the age of 16, he was recognized by M. Reger, and later gave excellent performances of Reger's chamber music. In 1919, he formed the Busch String Quartet, known in particular for its outstanding interpretations of Beethoven's late string quartets. In the late 1930s, he formed the Busch Chamber Orchestra in England, which focused on performances of Bach and Handel, and also formed a trio with his brother, cellist Hermann B. (1897-1975), and pianist R. Serkin, and was an unrivaled player in the field of chamber music. …

…ドイツのバイオリン奏者，作曲家。ケルン音楽院でバイオリンを，ボンで作曲を学ぶ。16歳のときM.レーガーに認められ，のちにレーガーの室内楽作品の優れた演奏を行った。1919年にブッシュ弦楽四重奏団を結成，とくにベートーベン後期の弦楽四重奏曲の卓越した解釈で知られた。30年代後半にはイギリスで，バッハ，ヘンデルの演奏を中心とするブッシュ室内管弦楽団を組織するほか，弟のチェロ奏者ヘルマンHermann B.(1897‐1975)，ピアニストのR.ゼルキンとともにトリオを結成するなど，室内楽の分野で他の追随を許さぬ活動を展開した。…
