Cryptogamia

Japanese: Cryptogamia
Cryptogamia

...This classification criterion is based on the characteristics of sexual reproductive organs, so that those that do not have sexual reproduction are classified as imperfect fungi for the time being. Historically, PA Micheli's Nova Plantarum Genera (1729) already included large fungi, but they were treated as plants, and Linnaeus' Species Plantarum (1753) classified them together with algae as cryptogam Cryptogamia, a name that has been used for a long time since then. Independent classification research of fungi began in the 1800s, and can be said to have been initiated by CH Persoon (1761-1836) and EMFries (1794-1878).
