The eggs overwinter on Rose of Sharon and Celastrus orbiculatus trees, and from spring they parasitize potatoes, eggplants, cucumbers, lilies, and chrysanthemums, and sexually reproduce on Rose of Sharon and cotton in November. Distributed worldwide. A major pest of horticultural plants, the colonies are large. They mainly parasitize the undersides of lower leaves near the ground surface.
