…For two generations, father and son played a leading role in the formation of the Venetian school of the Renaissance. (1)Jacopo Bellini (c. 1400-70 or 71) was a pupil of Gentile da Fabriano, and his style was strongly influenced by his teacher's late Gothic style. In 1536 he created The Crucifixion (now lost) for the Verona Cathedral.
